Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), released in 1999, refined the Windows 98 experience with improved stability and additional features. It introduced enhanced support for USB devices, making peripherals easier to use. Internet Explorer 5 and Windows Media Player 6.2 offered better web browsing and multimedia capabilities. Windows 98 SE also included support for FAT32 file system, enabling larger disk partitions and better disk space management. Despite its advancements, it faced security vulnerabilities and compatibility issues with newer hardware and software.
